Groundbreaking ceremony for School Center Cafeteria

The groundbreaking ceremony on January 21 marked the start of construction of the Gerlingen School Center Cafeteria. After introductory remarks by Gerlingen's mayor, Dirk Oestringer, Tobias Wulf provided insights into the plans, which call for a distinctive, freestanding timber structure. The new building is being constructed within sight of the award-winning Middle School, which was renovated and expanded according to our plans.

Recognition at the Eco Design Award

The Canton of Lucerne presents the Eco-Design Award to construction projects that demonstrate a conscious use of resources and are forward-looking in terms of a circular economy. Projects from various stages of implementation are eligible. We are delighted to receive recognition for our Outpatient Center project. The jury particularly praised the “condensation of the floor plan,” the “compact construction” and the “high space efficiency.” The planned atrium was also positively evaluated, being considered a successful approach to “healing architecture.”

Groundbreaking ceremony with Mayor Boris Palmer

On December 2, we celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the extension building of Ovesco Endoscopy AG together with Tübingen's mayor Boris Palmer. In the immediate vicinity of the Ovesco headquarters, a new building is being constructed in the technology park at the Tübingen Observatory. The extension meets the increased requirements for production space, workplaces, research and development areas, and storage capacity. In a later, third construction phase, the construction of a training and conference center is also planned.

Book Release at the Literaturhaus Stuttgart

Our second monograph, entitled “Structure and Type,” has been published by Birkhäuser—a multifaceted review of the years 2014 to 2024. On November 28, we celebrated the publication with over 120 guests at the Literaturhaus Stuttgart, where we presented our teams and the maxims of our work based on selected projects. Tobias Wulf was joined on stage by Stephan Burger, Baldur Dilthey, Inês Fien do Carmo, and Julia Zumkeller for a debate. The event was moderated by architecture critic Hubertus Adam.

4th prize in the competition for the Opera House of the Future

We are delighted to have been awarded 4th prize in the international competition for the new Düsseldorf Opera House. Our design retains large parts of the existing building. The basic structure of the former department store offers ideal conditions for the supporting functions of the triad of opera, music school, and library. The façade wraps around the building like a shimmering dress, allowing for specific views in and out.

Ingmar Menzer on Circular Building

At the invitation of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects, Ingmar Menzer presented the Straubenhardt fire station as part of the Würzburg panel discussion “Circular Building.” His presentation focused on the Cradle to Cradle circularity principle that was used in the design. The subsequent discussion, moderated by Moritz Holfelder, centered on the technical and political goals that could enable a sustainable construction revolution.
