»Cradle to Cradle«: panel discussion with Ingmar Menzer

As part of the event »Cradle to Cradle – How we create circular and livable communities« on June 30, Ingmar Menzer discussed the question »Cradle to Cradle: A topic also for the Baden-Baden region?« together with Nora Sophie Griefahn (Cradle to Cradle NGO), Helge Viehweg (Mayor of Straubenhardt) and a representative of the city of Baden-Baden. Our recently completed Fire Station in Straubenhardt, which was planned and built in accordance with the Cradle to Cradle principle, was also presented as an example. Dr. Peter Kaiser (New Green Consulting, Baden-Baden) hosted the event.

We're happy to announce that our scheme for the competition New Physics Building for the University of Kassel has been awarded 4th prize! Our design envisages two polygonally contoured structures to restore the ductus of the original master plan.

»Building of the Week«: Canteen and Media Center

This week, the online platform German Architects highlights our »Canteen and Media Center« in Darmstadt and published a short interview with Tobias Wulf. With its visible load-bearing structure of wood and folded glass facades, the building is a key address-giving element on the campus.

Neubau 3-Feld-Sporthalle in Stuttgart-Nord: We received an honourable mention!

Our scheme for a new 3-court gymnasium for School Center North, which we have refurbished and restructured in 2015, envisages a timber construction which is also reflected in the facade. The clearly defined structure creates a transition towards the green space.

The competition entries are currently on display at Stuttgart town hall.

Forschungszentrum Jülich: Laborrunde 2022 with Steffen Vogt, 03 June

The interdisciplinary conference Laborrunde takes place on 02 and 03 June and is dedicated to the topic »From future to present: building laboratories today which will function tomorrow«. The conference addresses designers, users and operators of laboratory buildings. In his lecture, Steffen Vogt talks about laboratory buildings in hybrid construction and presents our ongoing project Forschungszentrum Jülich vor.

Opening party and open house: Fire Station in Straubenhardt

The ceremonial inauguration of our new Fire Station took place on May 21. Ingmar Menzer symbolically handed over the key to Straubenhardt's mayor Helge Viehweg. The new building brings together six previously independent firefighting units and was designed and built in accordance with the »Cradle to Cradle« recycling principle.
